Epic California Motorcycle Ride | The Tahoe Sierra Loop

This is assuredly one of the most beautiful day rides in all of California, starting at 6,000ft and climbing up to 8,900ft, going through three passes, with turn after turn stunning views of the largest alpine lake in all of North America. You will find the Rever map and link at the bottom, for you to use for free.

We choose to depart from the north shore of the lake and lounge Lake Tahoe as most try to catch their breath from the constant vista attacks :)  We climb up Mt Rose and catch 180 degree views of the lake and the surrounding mountains, before we descend towards the Reno basin. Going down is even more fun than the climb, with some adrenaline jolting twisties.

No time to catch you breath, because as soon as we're down we start another climb via Geiger pass on our way to picturesque Virginia City. The sweeping turns compete for your attention with the drop dead gorgeous views of the valley.

Virginia City is charming and boasts a lot of character. You will feel as if transported back in the Wild West with wooden sidewalks, legit saloons, a running steam train, and you might even catch a few theatrical cowboy style gun fights, re-enacted by locals. It's a good time to get some lunch at some of the tastiest BBQ joints in the West.

This tour is not complete without a stop at the famous Genoa Saloon, the oldest saloon in Nevada, for a refreshment before we climb up again via Kingsbury Grade. Once again, sweeping turns will allow to twist the throttle, lean in and feel as one with your bike.

Once at the top... you guessed it... descending will be just as thrilling. Yes, this ride is just ridiculous  non-stop fun and beauty. With some luck, you can catch a sunset on the last stretch, right by the lake and over the mountains, a most majestic way to conclude an epic day ride.
